mill weddings: annie & garret.

Garret & Annie

{6.2.12}

"Garret and I (Annie) met at our youth group and were best friends through middle school and most of high school. We never liked each other more than friends... until college.

During Garret's freshman year at USAFA, he asked if I would like to accompany him to the Birthday Ball dance. I agreed and remember intense butterflies flying around in my stomach as I drove up the hill and parked in the chapel parking lot. At a specific moment during a slow dance, I remember catching Garret's eyes and looking away very quickly. I thought to myself "Wow... do I like Garret Bryant?" Indeed I did.
Garret and I started dating in 2009 and the first 6 months were spend attending the MILL and then driving to and from the Air Force Academy. As the years went along, we both went on a couple missions trips on our own. The separation on those trips really tested us, but the consistency we had at the MILL and the community there kept us together. We were rooted well in God first, and our long-time friendship was a foundation for us to fall back on in those valleys."

Their proposal, you ask? Well, Garret actually proposed to Annie during the MILL! He pretended to leave for a phone call from his sister. However, it was just a ploy to get Annie outside in the parking lot with him. She was completely surprised, just how Garret intended.

Garret has received his pilot slot and he will be starting pilot training in Enid, Oklahoma this fall. The first six weeks of training are in Pueblo, but they will move down to Oklahoma afterwards. Annie will be looking for a job, and is hoping to teach or work in an elementary school. They cannot wait to move into their first place together and are excited to meet new people and explore a new place.

Congratulations, you two! We pray the Lord's richest blessings on your marriage and are excited to see what the future has for you as you follow His leading.
